Member Services Specialist 

Description

Dominion National, a leading provider of dental and vision benefits in the Mid-Atlantic area, has an exciting opportunity for a Member Services Specialist.

The Member Services Specialist provides exceptional customer service to existing and prospective clients of Dominion National and interprets benefit coverage for enrollees and dental offices to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. 

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Provide uniform interpretation of benefits to members, providers, and employer groups.
  • Explain and clarify plan policies and procedures.
  • Actively works to resolve customer concerns, which may include contacting other appropriate parties to facilitate the resolution of such concerns and adequately document the information in the DataDental system.
  • Investigate verbal complaints concerning billing, claims or service rendered.
  • Escalate complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation.
  • Retrieve packages and forward written correspondence (to include brochures, provider lists, and other printed materials) to enrollees, when appropriate.  
  • Meet established ACD system call statistic goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability necessary for an individual to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • At least 1 year of Call Center experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of consumer-to-consumer customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of and prior experience in Dental, Medical or Managed Care industry is preferred.
  • Must possess the following characteristics: self-motivation, resourceful, detail-oriented, sense of accountability and must be a team player.
  • Must possess strong skills in the following areas: organizational, time management, written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer.
  • Strong communication skills over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
