The Payroll Lead is responsible for supervising relevant functions in preparation of hourly and salaried payrolls. Duties shall include but are not limited to the following:


  • Oversee the process of computation, documentation and processing of payroll wages and deductions for hourly, salary, flight attendants and pilots payroll
  • Pre-audit input data and verify authenticity of output for each payroll
  • Familiar with details of union contracts relative to payroll, and ensure employee paychecks conform to provisions of the CBA’s
  • Prepare management reports providing payroll analysis
  • 401k Reporting and Health Savings Account (HSA) reporting
  • Assist in account reconciliation
  • Payment and tracking of flex accounts
  • Responsible for timely and accurate distribution of all payroll checks/EFT’s
  • Process tax payments
  • Process various payroll adjustments
  • Perform other miscellaneous work as directed by the Payroll Manager


Position Requirements


  • Minimum of 5 years payroll experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word
  • Possess excellent organizational ability
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, while maintaining detail and accuracy
  • Possess good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen



  • Complex payroll calculations required such as commission pay, call out pay, shift differential, and/or per diem
  • Multi-state taxes, garnishments, and benefit processing (401k, FSA/HSA)



  • Stand – 5%
  • Walk – 5%
  • Sit – 90%



  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules of others
  • Ability to make decision which impact the immediate work unit
  • Must be willing to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively handle stress associated with meeting deadlines
  • Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes
  • Ability to communicate effectively so to be understood
