PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead team and campers on designated creative camp activities based on your program and curriculum provided by The Handwork Studio.
Lead and manage your team in ensuring a warm, friendly, and fun environment for campers, parents, etc.
Lead and manage your team on ensuring the safety and well-being of campers at all times.
Lead and manage your team on adhering to The Handwork Studio mission and values
SKILLS:
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills for leading your team, teaching children, communicating with parents, etc.
Tech skills preferred including but not limited to: using video conferencing platforms, G-suite, texting, etc.
Competent in any of the following techniques but not limited to:
Hand-sewing
Embroidery
Knitting
Crocheting
Weaving
Story-telling
Fashion Sketching or Illustration
Cardboard construction
Leading a classroom
General Arts and Crafts
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bountiful energy to sit, stand, play, and create throughout the day.
At least 2 years of experience working with children.
2 years of leadership/management experience.
At least 1 year of experience in any of the techniques listed in the above skills section.
Complete all required training and paperwork and background checks
A passion and a strong desire to work with children in a creative environment
Access to a smartphone
Access to a computer with a web camera
Quiet Space to broadcast from.
Comfortable using technology
Possess a nurturing and compassionate sense of humor
Ability to complete approximately 15 hours of paid pre-camp training (generally throughout the month of May and early June)
Availability to work from approximately June-August, Monday-Fridays, 8am-4pm
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
Maintained mental and physical alertness
