Description

The Silverthorne Police Department is accepting applications for the hourly position of Police Sergeant. This team-oriented position is responsible for direct supervision of public safety personnel in the field and in day to day operations. Additionally this position is responsible for the enforcement of criminal and traffic laws, preventing and deterring criminal activity, and providing day-to-day services to the public. We utilize the principals of community policing to address and resolve issues within the Town.

Hiring Pay Range is: $95,275 to 117,935
Full Pay Range is: $95,275 to $123,600

$10,000 Hiring Bonus: $5,000 after successful completion of Field Training Program and $5,000 after one year of service post Field Training.

Position Requirements

Required Experience / Skills:

  • Colorado POST Certification
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license
  • Three years of full time successful law enforcement experience in a Municipal, County or State law enforcement agency
  • Exceptional English written and oral communication skills
  • Applicants must be able to work 4, 10 hour shifts, that rotate and include, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements as shown in the job description
  • Must have the ability to succesfully pass the following: background check, drug test, physical, polygraph and psychological testing
  • You must submit names of five references in the application process.

Preferred Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Law enforcement experience in a resort community
