Cabinet Operations Manager demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to the Mission of Tulsa Habitat for Humanity and in the people and neighborhoods it serves with a genuine interest in, and ability to relate to, a highly diverse environment, clientele and constituencies. This position will be able to communicate this to donors, customers, volunteers, vendors, construction professionals and staff.

This is a hands-on position that provides on-site management, coordination and supervision of the cabinet facility for the manufacturing of cabinetry for internal retail and external sales production, including coordinating staff, volunteers, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget to maximize profits and growth. Cabinet Operations Manager shall be responsible for inventory, production schedules, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Essential Functions

  1. Prepares project schedule.
  2. Review custom cabinetry manufacturing plans, understands design drawings, bid takeoff and proposal preparation, design cabinet cut-list and order materials for production.
  3. Responsible for cabinet shop productivity for job completion within estimated hours; and ensures staff and/or volunteers performs at the level required for his or her position.
  4. The ability to develop and implement a business growth plan, a budget for labor and raw material and adjust production accordingly.
  5. Versed in cabinet software, and manufacturing and production techniques such as a CNC wood router, edge-bander, panel saw, joiners, wide belt sanders, pocket boring and line boring equipment, shapers, etc.
  6. Must be knowledgeable of dimensional lumber, wood species, and types and grades.
  7. Schedules daily staff duties and oversees the preparation and production of materials to meet daily/weekly deadlines.
  8. Inspects work of employees and volunteers.
  9. Serves as liaison between customers, production, installation and/or loading.
  10. Correct any safety issues.
  11. Ensures that the cabinet facility operates according to company requirements and promptly addresses any issues.
  12. Ensures and oversees that proper personal protection equipment is worn by installation crew at all times and that the job site work area is cleaned daily.
  13. Ensures and oversees the implementation of best safety practices and procedures.
  14. Ensures environmental compliance knowledge and implementation of local, state and federal regulations.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. This position is exposed to outside weather conditions.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, climb a ladder, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours.

Position Requirements
  • 5 years of management level experience working with employees, volunteers, customers, suppliers and subcontractors developing and implementing growth goals and budgets.
  • 5 years of cabinetry design and construction.
  • Experience in estimating and knowledge of construction materials and methods.
  • Extensive research of materials, evaluate suppliers, subcontractors, and their proposals.
  • Experience with production wood finishing techniques including wiping and dye stains, lacquer based paints and primers, and conversion varnish topcoats.
  • Must have keen attention to detail and focused, meticulous and precise with work product, communication and coordination of project team.
  • Must be able to think and problem solve in the field, to address minor installation issues and keep the project install team on-track.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
  • Absolute commitment to job safety.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
