Summary of Responsibilities: · Provide professional oversight to the functions of financial analysis and budgeting for the College. Serve as the primary person in collecting, organizing, building and implementing the annual budget process. This position will be the primary person for financial analysis within the College. Responsible for coordinating and preparing the interim financial reports on monthly basis and year-end. Build financial projections for 1) current year, 2) five year forecast, and 3) other ad hoc programs and specific scenarios. This position is expected to grow into a more comprehensive financial manager in time. Areas of future growth include increasing responsibility for maintaining the general ledger, preparation of additional financial reports and schedules, tax returns (990), oversight of auditing process, and management of finance and business office functions. Essential Responsibilities: (These essential responsibilities are those the individual must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.) o Financial Reporting & Analysis · Perform research and analysis for College leadership so that it can properly manage the resources of the College. · Prepare monthly interim financial reports for the college. · Build financial projections for 1) current year, 2) five year forecast, and 3) other ad hoc programs and specific scenarios. · Support leadership with specific analysis examining financial contribution of programs, organizational units, and departments. · Assist leadership in identifying areas of better resource deployment and forecasting (expense and revenue). · Summarizing financial information to assist leaders in making decisions about resource allocation. · Research and benchmarking of competitor financial activities. o Budgeting · Overall responsibility for preparing the annual budget (approximately $34M) · Explore implementation of the use of Budget Module with Jenzabar (or equivalent options) · Support of capital budgeting and fixed asset monitoring · Assist leadership in answering budget-related questions and training college personnel on budget matters. o Banking Activity, Relationship, and Cash Monitoring · Manage all banking activity and relationships including wires, ACH, credit card receipts, any other cash movements and cash management to maximize income for the College. · Maintain access for online banking users. · Oversee cash flow projection and line of credit transactions/recommendations. · Maintain ACH debit block o General Ledger · Review and approve assigned edit groups for G/L · Generate reports and analyze financial transactions · Lease accounting · Maintain budget officer listing and update EX for necessary user access. o Audit Schedule Preparation · Prepare annual overall financial statement analysis · Prepare financial responsibility ratio · Supervision: (Indirect for Students only which” does not” include hiring, discipline and evaluation) · Occasional limited supervision of student employees to include training, planning, assigning and directing work, coaching, addressing complaints and resolving problems. · Must have a mindset of mentoring employees under supervision. Should be able to lead in a way that sets a good example, promotes teamwork, and encourages a positive, efficient work environment. · Miscellaneous · Assist Controller with various G/L account reconciliations. · Perform other duties as assigned.
