Job Summary:
The Credit and Collections Analyst is responsible for the timely and efficient management, administration, risk mitigation, and collection of CalPortland's accounts receivable portfolio. The Credit and Collections Analyst will utilize their excellent communication, interpersonal, systems and analytical skills to ensure compliance with established credit policies and procedures. This position reports to the Corporate Credit Manager.

• Review, collect and/or reconcile customer accounts to improve DSO and mitigate the risk of loss
• Immediately advise Credit Management of chronic collection or customer insolvency concerns
• Process lien releases and/or mechanic's liens in a timely manner
• Perform lien matching daily to ensure preliminary notices are prepared and disbursed in accordance with Credit Department, state and legal requirements
• File liens in a timely manner to mitigate the risk of loss
• Accurately document all collection efforts as per department requirements
• The timely completion of collection reports to support monthly Credit/Sales meetings
• Build and Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers to promote corporate brand, increase accountability, credibility and timeliness in responding to and resolving related issues or tasks
• Contribute in Credit department and cross-departmental meetings to assist in identifying opportunities or concerns as they pertain to individual or various processes influencing the order to cash cycle
• Run, analyze, edit and utilize reports (standard department and ad hoc) to influence and improve results, communication and the integrity of corporate receivables
• Promotes innovation by actively participating in the development, testing and implementation of new technologies to improve department efficiencies, accountability, credibility, results

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting required

• Minimum 3 years' of experience in commercial credit and collections
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Solid data mining and analysis skills
• Detailed oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
• Results oriented and strives for continuous improvement
• Ability to work well and collaboratively in a team environment
• Knowledge of liens and other security instruments
• Familiarity with analyzing financial statements
• Occasional Travel

• Construction and/or building materials collection experience
• Experience with SAP ERP system
• Familiar with lien laws and the filing of liens
• MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidate must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
