A Lube Technician is responsible for inspecting and lubricating vehicles quickly and thoroughly. Entry level position in the service area of an automobile dealership. Pay ranges from $9.00 to $12.00 per hour ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Change oil & filter in a vehicle Rotate tires using all patterns Rack a vehicle Performs multi-point inspections Utilize PC’s and tablets Communicate additional service/repair needs to service advisors Service universal joints, grease fittings, and steering knuckles using hand- or compressed-air powered grease guns Inspect fluid levels in steering gears, power steering reservoirs, transmissions, differentials, rear axle housings and shackles Check and set tire pressure Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil Add water to radiator and battery Replace air filters and cabin filter Inspect all vehicles for additional repairs Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards Follow dealership safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt and harsh chemicals OTHER FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other related duties as assigned   Position Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 6 months of experience working in the automotive field as a technician or lube technician or related training equivalent required from an automotive trade school Successful track record Team oriented Professional appearance Valid driver’s license with good driving record, under 21 cannot have any points or incidents Submit to and successfully complete MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: None REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSURES: None PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.  The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Must be able to lift and/or move 50 lbs.
