Manager of International Public Relations (English/Korean Bilingual) 

Description

The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), headquartered in Daytona Beach, FL, is currently seeking a full-time, bilingual Manager of International Public Relations. Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, this position is responsible for managing key initiatives of the organization through the development of international public relations plans to increase international media coverage and awareness of the LPGA. This position is based in Daytona Beach, FL and will be required to travel (domestic and international) approximately 40% of the calendar year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Responsible for overall direction of the LPGA’s international public relations efforts, serving as the association’s “in-house publicity” manager
  • Develop public relations plans, packaging and marketing select golfers as “brands," while targeting select consumers, entertainment and sports media outlets
  • Develop and implement quarterly PR plans to leverage the LPGA’s business success, top performing members/players and historical moments
  • Occasionally serve as the organization's international speechwriter for LPGA; responsible for securing speaking engagements, developing presentations and preparing senior-level executives for such appearances
  • Oversee the relationship with the LPGA's PR agency and leverage opportunities for placement of players on international TV and print outlets
  • Collaborate with internal business partners on content development for the LPGA website, social and communications channels and develop and contribute editorial content for LPGA.com
  • Research select business, sports and consumer publications and develop targeted pitches
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Sports Information-related field
  • At least 5 years of public relations experience, with an emphasis in sports entertainment and lifestyle media preferred
  • Bilingual skills required; fluency (reading/writing/speaking) in English and one or more Asian languages
  • Golf background strongly desirable, with knowledge of the sport and its participants
  • Strong media relations contacts and proven track record preferred
  • Must be creative, motivated, proactive, resourceful, deadline-oriented, able to multi-task
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence without direct authority
  • Demonstrate pro-active initiative, with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledgeable in use and application of social media sites including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
