Description

The Director of Mental Health & Wellness (DMHW) is primarily responsible for day to day oversight, operations, managing, directing and leading the mental health and substance use recovery operations and supporting the wellness operations, at the Veteran Wellness Center (VWC).

The DMHW will assist the clinic directors and program coordinators at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic’s (MFC) and the VWC in the execution of staff trainings, the development of resources to provide best practice and evidence-based treatment to clients. The DMHW will provide oversight and support to the VWC operations regarding administrative oversight to grants, writing grants and researching diversified funding opportunities. The DMHW will be responsible for the completion and execution of funder requirements and grant/funder deliverables. The DMHW will lead activities during and in preparation for all accreditation, licensing, or other audits and surveys.

The DMHW must have an understanding and recent performance of evidence-based interventions, grant writing, research and have an understanding of Military, Veterans, their family members, needs, along with mental health operations, treatment and interventions along with wellness principles and interventions. This position may be a community spokesperson for the mental health and wellness operations at Endeavors.

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

25% Oversee & support all clinical operations at the VWC, including the accumulating of outcome data tracking, reporting KPI’s to leadership. Assist, guide and support VWC directors/coordinators with process improvements and budget planning, to include expenditures, & funds.

 

25%. Assist, support and guide all mental health and wellness grant writing and funding opportunities with the Senior Director of Mental Health and Wellness and Endeavors Development department. Support the implementation of new programs, grant requirements and funder deliverables. Manage relationship with the program funders, including overseeing performance measurement (e.g., clinical and operational outcomes reporting) for the clinic. Track and complete funder deliverables, audits and surveys.

 

25%. Provide clinical support and supervision to the department as needed to include clinically supervising of an Intern(s) or Provisionally licensed staff at the VWC. Participate in, organize, and train staff.

 

10%. Manage Community Outreach and Communication to ensure the Veteran community takes full advantage of the Clinic's services.

 

10%. Represent Endeavors and the Clinic at conferences, meetings of service providers within the community, and liaising with other Veteran-service organizations at the local and national level to maintain partnerships and share work of the clinic.

 

5%. Provide direct clinical treatment to VWC clients.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION: At least a Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work/Counseling/Psychology or related mental health field. Must have acquired all related state licensures and/or certifications including the Texas supervising credential. Specialized training and experience in evidenced based treatment of trauma and/or serious mental illness required.

 

EXPERIENCE: At least five (5) years of experience with managerial/supervisory responsibilities and clinical leadership experience is required. Experience across a range of modalities beyond individual adult treatment to include children, couples, and family treatment is preferred. Must have experience treating and diagnosing PTSD as well as co-morbid diagnoses (e.g., anxiety), with evidence-based treatments and providing clinical supervision in these areas. Experience working with Military or Veteran population is strongly preferred. Must demonstrate leadership capacity and ability to foster team-building and a supportive, flexible environment.

 

LICENSES: Driver’s License with clear record required. Active State of Texas full clinical licensure with the credential to supervise.

 

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

 

WORK LOCATION: Must be able to work from home in a private space and/or transition to an on-site location as space and public health response allows.

 

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
