The Division of Public Relations manages the publishing and distribution of the corporation's premier print and electronic publications, and videos. These include the annual report and specialized e-newsletters such as the NeighborWorks@Work and the NetWorks (For NeighborWorks organization executive directors and board presidents). The division also provides graphic design support to other business units throughout the corporation, provides overall content management, site development and design for NeighborWorks America websites and coordinates the corporation's Web strategy. This involves establishing and implementing corporate-wide policies, strategies and guidelines, and coordinating audience and strategies that guide the corporation's web presence. Public Relations also coordinates the delivery of related Web-based services to the corporation and the NeighborWorks network.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Public Relations (Operations), the National Public Affairs and Communication Advisory (PACA) raises the visibility for NeighborWorks America (NWA) and the NeighborWorks Network. Through relationship management and communications, this position works in partnership with Field Operations and Public Affairs and Communications Advisors (PACAs), Public Relations (PR) and Public Policy and Legislative Affairs (PPLA) and the offices of the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer with a specific emphasis on highlighting events, achievements and relationships of strategic importance to the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE
Collaborating extensively and engaging with other business units to create and implement strategies to support communications and public affairs goals; managing projects including all network communications related to NeighborWorks Week - including employee volunteer event, maintaining a database of planned NWW events and coordinating NWA participation; developing and writing op-eds for the network, editing press releases, letters and other materials; providing editorial updates and overview of content for sections related to PR; creating and distributing the weekly Network Update including compilation and dissemination of information adding, editing and/or deleting recipients; supporting field work on Doing Business as (DBA) application from NeigborWorks Network Organizations; maintaining the Story Databank, soliciting and reviewing entries, overseeing the structure and process and sharing the information; looking for commonalities across NeighborWorks and the NeighborWorks Network with respect to public relations and communications capacity, opportunity and challenges; proactively identifying tools, strategies and trainings; supporting and executing social media goals of the organization; piloting communications projects with specific groups within the network; providing strategic counsel to network organizations; and supporting individual field PACAs and members of the PPLA teams during major events.

 
Position Requirements

(a) Education: A bachelor's degree with a major in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
(b) Experience: At least five (5) years' relevant communications work experience which includes leading/managing a collaborative team and extensive social media experience.
(c) Licenses, Certifications: None required.
(d) Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Highly effective inter-personal skills, with the ability to manage relationships in a pro-active, "take-lead" manner; ability to manage various activities and projects involving various partners; demonstrated creative writing and editing skills in support of the PR team; ability to work within complex organizational dynamics; ability to lead teams through collaboration, negotiation and consensus building; ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels including staff, managers, directors, consultant, donors, and non-profit executives; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels; proven flexibility, resourcefulness, organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities and prioritization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in a public affairs division or a political environment.

Salary Range 130 Offer Range: $80K-$85K
