The incumbent is responsible for providing play-by-play for Pirates games on radio and television as well as numerous public appearance responsibilities throughout the year. Responsibilities Plan, prepare, present and perform as a play-by-play announcer on Pirates television and radio broadcast prior to, during, and following select spring training games and for all regular season and postseason games.   Conduct player and personality interviews for radio and television. Emcee a variety of Pirates-related events. Participate in Pirates events, including but not limited to, PirateFest and the Pirates Winter CARE-a-van activities. Perform voiceovers as necessary for commercials. Conduct regular radio affiliate and general media interviews. Represent the Pirates in the community and at Pirates Charities events. All other duties as assigned by the Director of Broadcasting.       Position Requirements   A minimum of five (5) years of experience in professional baseball providing play-by-play announcements for radio and/or television broadcasts. Public speaking experience. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). A bachelor's degree in communications or a similar discipline is preferred, but not required.
