All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.   Description GENERAL PURPOSE The Senior Director of Student Experience will be responsible for The Concordia Experience of each student from the inquiry to accepted student phase; and new student orientation to Commencement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prospective Students and Campus Visits: Oversee prospective student visits to campus, including setting up the campus visit experience: arranging faculty introductions, classroom visits, athletic events, coach visits, overnight stays, classroom visits, campus tours and individual admission counselor meetings; Oversee campus Open Houses and special events on campus for prospective students; Provide oversight and mentoring to campus tour guides; Monitor from application to admission process; and Set enrollment benchmarks with admission directors. Liaison with third party providers for College Mentoring Serve as primary liaison to coordinate with third party providers on retention deliverables and services, including: Develop persistence-related data and best practices in student retention; Collaborate with third party providers to enable delivery of retention services through the mobile medium; Coordinate with Academics Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research to provide curriculum and outcomes data related to the College's retention best practices; Coordinate with the Director of IT Services to provide necessary resources and technological access to monitor academic progress and standing for all students; Develop information and resources pertaining to achievement of 4-year graduation plans; Coordinate with first-year experience faculty to develop and deliver content and mentorship for and in-app virtual workshops for students; and Develop innovative, or online or real-time, proactive, and reactive strategies and related communication plans for supporting students from pre-enrollment summer through graduation. Managing The Student Experience: Oversee all student life functions including community life (resident and commuter life), career development, counseling and health services, retention, student success, assessment, co-curricular international programs and service, student activities and orientation programs; Plan and manage budgets for areas under supervision of the Senior Director of Student Experience; and Oversee and manage program to effectively track and manage student housing allocation with partners, such as Kings Pathway. Develop and Foster a Diverse, Multicultural Student Community Develop and implement a plan to provide services to students of various nationalities and ethnicities; Foster a diverse, multicultural co-curricular experience for the traditional student population; and Develop clubs and activities related to development of a multicultural, diverse student community. Adult Education and Non-Traditional Student Community Develop and implement a model of Student Experience for adult education and other non-traditional student populations; Engage adult education and non-traditional student populations in College spiritual and co-curricular life; and Provide Student Experience services to adult education and non-traditional students. Supervise: Director of Student Services; and Directors of Student Engagement, Student Success, and Career Development.   Position Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree A minimum of 10 years’ experience in student services, including higher education administration, and higher education Admission Experience in administering programs for multi-cultural and international student population Experience in working directly with non-traditional (eg., adult) student populations, particularly in an administrative capacity Strong interpersonal, public speaking and writing skills Knowledge of student retention issues and experience working with students, staff and faculty to address retention and graduation rates Ability to represent the College in a professional manner Work well with multiple constituencies Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion Demonstrate ability to effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently Confidence and a comfortable nature when speaking to students Goal and detail oriented Effective at managing multiple priorities Ability to work independently Working knowledge of computers; Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SCT Banner Team focused and ability to work within small and large groups Availability and willingness to work evenings and weekends Maintain a positive attitude that will promote a healthy cultural climate that reflects the mission of Concordia College New York Commitment to the values of a Christian liberal arts college and appreciation for the heritage of Lutheran higher education   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Shift Days   Travel Requirements   Position Senior Director of Student Experience   Close Date 6/2/2017   Open Date 5/26/2017   Location Bronxville, NY   About the Organization CONCORDIA COLLEGE is a small, vibrantly diverse, private, liberal arts, coeducational institution of higher learning with a distinguished legacy.
