CMI is a forward–thinking, fast paced, award-winning firm that delivers solutions, innovation, and results-driven work to our client base.  We are seeking a Mailroom Clerk responsible for sorting incoming mail for distribution and dispatches outgoing mail by performing the following duties.  It is important for our Mailroom Clerk to be dependable, efficient and professional and should be able to act on behalf of CMI and the clients’ needs.



  • Picks up mail from post office box on a daily basis.
  • Sorts mail according to destination and type such as returned letters, adjustments, bills, orders, and payments.

  • Delivers all sorted checks to Bookkeeper for preparation of deposit slips.

  • Examines outgoing mail for appearance and seals envelopes; brings to post office.

  • Stamps outgoing mail by hand or with postage meter.

  • Informs management when postage and copier supplies are needed.

  • Distributes and collects mail.

  • Weighs mail to determine that postage is correct.

  • Maintains all information related to the client in a confidential manner.

Position Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent experience



  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
