Maintenance Manager

Category Operations  

This position directs the maintenance operations to achieve maximum production potential at the lowest cost, and preserve asset value.  Also, this position is responsible for managing the maintenance service and repairs for the entire facility; all support equipment; all manufacturing, filling, processing and transfer equipment.  In addition, this position is responsible for eAM Management including:  entering and removing assets, updating and adding SMP's, Checklists, Asset BOM's, and associated matrix level compliance.

Major tasks include:

  • Maintains discipline within the department.
  • Plan, direct and supervise team members and activities of the Maintenance department to ensure prompt and accurate response to equipment and facility maintenance needs.
  • Train and develop skill level of maintenance staff.
  • Maintains maintenance records to track effectiveness of maintenance program.
  • Support the site goal of VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) attainment through implementing the elements of SMART (Safety Means Awareness Responsibility Teamwork)
  • Develop budgets and cost controls.
  • Monitor equipment downtime through eAM (Enterprise Asset Management).
  • Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of production problems using eAM data.
  • Promote safety through active participation and support of company safety policies and programs, and initiating corrective action for recognized unsafe conditions and hazards.  Encourage employee involvement in all Safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate purchasing of supplies and equipment services for the Maintenance department.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews.
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Bachelor's Degree or at least 4 years equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of Electrical Controls, PLC/relay logic, pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Prior experience managing engineering/maintenance projects in an industrial environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills
  • Follow-up skills
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Safety awareness
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Successful candidate must pass a drug screen
  • Must have the ability to lift 25-50 lbs. frequently and 50-100 lbs. occasionally with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous plant maintenance supervisory/managerial experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related technical field
