Reporting to: Information Technology Manager

Summary of Position: The Information Technology Intern is responsible for assisting the IT manager on the overall management of the property's network which includes networking protocols, network monitoring, routing, and hardware and software configurations. Assist in overseeing all technology related systems, maintenance and troubleshooting for desktop and network problems. Keep accurate recorded inventory and documentation of all assets and systems.


Primary Functions:

  • To serve as a Gansevoort Hotel Group Brand Ambassador and maintain integrity of brand standards and goals.
  • To uphold and comply with Gladys Standards, Coyle Standards and Gansevoort Core Values at all times.
  • Be responsible for all network setup and configuration to ensure operation needs are met
  • Ensure licensing compliance
  • Provide support for guest interfacing technologies.
  • Setup and train new employees on systems.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors.
  • Monitor systems and remote access.
  • Provide daily system and user support.


Essential Functions: 

  • Provide support for employees desktop computing issues
  • Image, configure and install desktops and laptops for new hires.
  • Install and support enterprise-wide applications such Windows 7, MS Office 2007 and 2010, as well as departmental business and security applications.
  • Perform hardware replacements as equipment becomes defective or obsolete.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software in order to deliver required desktop service levels.
  • Maintain security and privacy of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment.
  • Participate in the development of network standards and operational procedures
  • Maintains data backup and recovery
  • Install and configure workstations based on company needs and requirements.
  • Performs related duties as required.



Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Computer Science/IT related degree program
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with window’s operating systems and Microsoft office products
  • Understanding local-area networking and networking equipment.
  • Self-motivated and focused, with a positive outlook and excellent organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to speak and hear clearly to enforce policy.
  • Must be able to work standing/moving for a long period of time.
  • Must be able to quickly move from one area of the property to another.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, move and carry at least 60 pounds of force.
