Supervisor:                          General Manager

 

Position Summary:

 

Assists in building and leading a team of crew members that embody the positive, productive culture of “Hoss’pitality”

 

Positively contributes to successful restaurant-level operations and achieves company objectives through a strong blend of Fiscal Responsibility, Operational and Quality Standards, Safety Awareness, Guest and Employee Relations, Administration, and Continuous Education.  Displays forward-thinking approach in these areas and models and demonstrates Leadership that is aligned with that of the company’s core values.   

 

Successful performance is measured by the consistent delivery of balanced results through our systems, methods, procedures, and evaluation processes.

 
Position Requirements

 

Education

Required:  High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:  Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management     

 

Experience:

Required:  Previous Restaurant experience:

Preferred:  Previous Management experience                  

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

Fiscal Responsibility -   Strong understanding of and focus on achieving profitability standards through effective shift management.

  • Possess and display a working knowledge of FPC, Labor, IFO and other profitability goals or targets

  • Knowledgeable of store’s financial performance and able to make suggestions on how to improve

  • Understanding of Profit & Loss Statement, the ability to identify controllables, and the ability to assist in the creation of a monthly budget

 

Operational & Quality Standards -   Leads an excellent operation, working toward positive guest feedback, maintaining high quality standards, and making sound decisions based on company culture, policies, and procedures.

  • Actively and efficiently practices the Three Rush Phases to ensure a smooth cadence and flow of business and optimal guest satisfaction

  • Advocate for and ensures strong Cleaning and Preventative Maintenance programs in order to maximize the life and functionality of our buildings and equipment

  • Awareness of and proactive approach to ensuring that our employees have the materials and equipment needed to do their job right

  • Ability to produce and exceed results as measured thru the Quality Assurance Analysis Reports

  • Passion for serving only the highest quality and ability to identify and correct product quality concerns

  • Sound working knowledge of food offerings, menu, menu components, recipe standards and preparation and presentation standards

  • Aware of and communicate local happenings and events to ensure proper staffing

 

Safety Awareness -   Understands and actively communicates importance of safety and the financial impact that accidents can have on the business

  • Possesses required Food Safety training and is an advocate for food safety training, ensuring proper sanitation practices and proper food storage, handling, preparation, cooking and cooling practices.

  • Performs and oversees the timely and proper documentation and reporting of all accidents

  • Actively seeks to minimize risks to safety and minimize the impact on the company

  • Actively involved in and a contributing member of the in-house Safety Committee

 

Guest and Employee Relations-   Builds the brand through practices designed to retain and grow the customer base and create and maintain and environment that attracts, focuses, and retains the most talented employees

  • Master of public relationships – develops relationships with local businesses, communities and guests

  • Inspires trust, confidence, honesty, hard work and pride in others and creates an atmosphere which supports enthusiasm, excitement, and meaningful communication

  • Strictly adheres to, monitors, and trains according to HR policies and procedures

  • Displays passion for crew development and proper training, understands and communicates the costs associated with improper hiring, training, retention, or termination

  • Is actively engaged and participates in important store events, meetings and trainings

 

Administration-   Thorough knowledge and timely completion of all required paperwork, reporting, benefits, legal requirements and training as they relate to operations

  • Ability to complete all weekly, period, and quarterly paperwork with 100% accuracy

  • Working knowledge of all benefit offerings and details

  • Sound knowledge of government laws and daily application of legislative issues in the restaurant

  • Meet all Safety and Legal Requirements relating to Food and/or Alcohol Safety/Sanitation and train accordingly

 

Continuous Education-   Maintains Technical and Professional knowledge through exposure to new information

  • Does not fear change, rather embraces and seeks it out to remain competitive

  • Displays a passion for and a dedication to personal and professional growth

  • Completes and strives to exceed basic Continuing Education requirements and required certifications

     

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work in a loud, fast-paced, and hectic environment

  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to bend and stoop

  • Very infrequent driving may be required

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

  • Subject to wet floor, temperature extremes, and noise
