Position Junior Application Programmer and Analyst  

Description

Junior Application Programmer and Analyst

At United Air Temp (UAT), the junior application programmer and analyst will be responsible for designing, coding and deploying applications needed to support our associates and the work processes within our business.  He or she will gather feedback from users to understand why the application is needed and how it must function. The Junior application programmer and analyst will format the input data and develop the program structure. He or she will maintain and update flow charts, programming logic and coding according to the users' changing needs. The junior application programmer and analyst will provide user support, including initial training and help desk assistance.

In addition, he or she will review, analyze, and modify existing application systems including encode, test, debug and document, at management direction. The junior application programmer will analyze and resolve problems associated with application systems and will monitor performance of applications to proactively detect, diagnose and report related problems. UAT management will request regular reports containing errors, maintenance, modifications and updates on tasks and projects from the application programmer and analyst.

Skills

·         The junior application programmer and analyst at UAT will require knowledge of common programming languages. Knowledge of servers, server operating systems and micro-computer based program solutions are also required.

  • Programmers must know how to input data, format it and develop reports from it. He or she must know flow charts, programming logic and codes.
  • Software development often involves working in a group, so the junior application programmer must have a team-oriented attitude. The ability to write instruction manuals and maintenance instructions is also required. Good oral communication skills are a must.

Education and Experience

·         Requires a bachelor's degree in computer programming, computer science or software engineering or an associate's degree or technical certificate combined with a minimum of 3 years of programming experience.

·         Advance knowledge of Access programming and SQL coding experience are a must.
