** The PM EO/IR position in contingent upon award of contract.

Job Summary:

Provides project management and system engineering advice, guidance and assistance in support of the Product Manager for Electro-Optical and Infrared Sensors (PM EO/IR). Organizes, coordinates, and facilitates project and acquisition planning and reviews that support strategy development, system requirements analysis, and system design approach.  Implements and monitors PM EO/IR processes and procedures.  Monitors project status; keep the PM leadership and staff informed on progress.  Supports and monitors completion of key project actions and tasks.  Prepares and reviews correspondence, briefings, and reports for dissemination to senior Army leadership and staff.  Prepares and provides analysis, input, and feedback on product developments. 

Specific duties involve:

  • Review and analyze development, production, and system support proposals as well as participate in program reviews and make independent evaluations of technical performance.
  • Assist the PM in the preparation of contract technical documents, specifications and statements of work for developmental projects, and recommend trade-off/best technical approach analyses.
  • Maintain/track project status (Integrated Master Schedule, documentation status, etc.); assign/track status of key actions/tasks; keep PM leadership informed on status.
  • Coordinate/facilitate project-level planning sessions.
Position Requirements

Required Experience / Skills:

  • Flexible team-player with a client-focused orientation, attention to detail, and the ability to exercise sound judgment in diverse environment.
  • Strong communication skills- verbal, written and ability to prioritize.
  • Strong knowledge of military systems acquisition environment and policies.
  • Ability to research and analyze data.
  • Experience working in a C4ISR environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently act as a consultant, to set priorities, to organize tasks, monitor assignments, and ensure completion of assigned work on time
  • Ability to respond to challenging program questions and issues by researching and assimilating information into valid recommendations in a timely manner
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (especially MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and MS Project or similar systems

Required Education / Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, program management, or other relevant fields required.
  • DAWIA Certification Level II/III in Acquisition Program Management or equivalent preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • A current Secret Security Clearance is preferred (ability to obtain an interim clearance is acceptable).

Work Environment:

This is a full-time, salaried / exempted position in IAW the Fair Labor Standards Act.  All work will be performed “on-site” in a standard temperature-controlled, secured office environment. Work days are Monday to Friday, 40-hours per week with core office hours from 9am to 3pm.  Occasional “additional” hours (more than 8hrs) may be required due to workload or client urgent needs.  Planned leave, or other absences require advance notice.
