Description

The United States Census Bureau (USCB) requires support for operation and maintenance of the Information Technology (IT) systems and telecommunications infrastructure. The purpose of this task order is to obtain on-site services for IT service delivery and support to TCO (Telecommunications Office) in the following categories:

  • Information Systems Security (ISS)
  • System Operations and Maintenance (SOM)
  • Information Systems Engineering (ISE)

 

TASK DESCRIPTION

  • Perform the daily configuration and operation of systems to include mainframe, mini, or client/server based systems
  • Plan and monitor the optimization of system operations and resource utilization, and perform systems capacity analysis and planning
  • Plan and monitor assistance to users in accessing and using business systems
  • Oversee operational support for USCB enterprise wide systems to include:
  • Architecture and design support
  • Hardware upgrades and installations
  • Operating System (OS) and application installation and configuration
  • Software upgrades and patches for standard system and security maintenance as well as capability improvement
  • Performance management
  • Configuration and change management
  • Customer and application management, and problem resolution assistance
  • Inventory review and maintenance
  • Product/service recommendations including analysis
  • Assisting in the procurement process including market research, requisition, purchase request submission, and contract management
  • Review of billing for TCO provided services (e.g., telecommunication links and mobile airtime)
  • Monitor systems and services for availability
  • Respond to help desk/Remedy tickets and telephone calls for TCO systems/services
  • New product/service evaluation, selection, and transition
  • USCB enterprise wide systems that will be supported including:
  • Microsoft Active Directory (AD)
  • Novell eDirectory and Identity Management Systems
  • Remote Access (VPN and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI))
  • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
  • Windows Domain Controllers
  • DHCP Services and IP Address Management
  • Bindview Directory System Management and Audit
  • Budget, Human Resources, Library, Security, and Enterprise Management Systems
  • Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) gateways
  • Anti-spam
  • Remote Authentication Dial In User Service (RADIUS)
  • LDAP Authentication and Directory Integration Services
 
Position Requirements
  • 5+ years of system administration experience working in a federal government setting
  • Prior experience working with Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Novell eDirectory and Identity Management Systems, and Remote Access (VPN and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI))
  • Experience working with Remedy Tracking systems
  • Must have a current Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one
