Details Position is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm.  
Preferred Qualifications Strong familiarity with Russellville market area.  

SUMMARY: With limited guidance, incumbents generate, evaluate and approve commercial loans for processing, closing, and servicing for loans that are the most complex and largest loans in the local bank’s total commercial portfolio.  Incumbents utilize the bank’s available assets to maximize the generation of revenue, profits, deposits, and plus other cross-selling opportunities.  In addition, incumbents are to protect the bank by providing continual supervision of all assigned loans.    May supervise one or more lending associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Generate new loans according to Loan Policy guidelines. 
  2. Actively manage commercial banking relationships through proactive customer contacts which include identifying opportunities to fully develop commercial relationships, preparing and maintaining account plans and sales maps for each assigned relationship and actively participating in weekly sales meetings. Review and analyze customers’ financial documentation to determine viability of future business success.  
  3. Advise the customer of the advantages and disadvantages of the various loan products available as well as the requirements necessary to qualify for various loans. 
  4. Maintain contact with customers to ensure compliance with loan terms and/or determine if any other financial assistance or advice is required.
  5. Work within underwriting authority and exercise appropriate discretion daily to analyze loan prospects. 
  6. Approve or deny loans within assigned lending authority. If request exceeds authority, deny or recommend approval to appropriate committee/individual. 
  7. Actively participant in civic and public relations activities that provides new business for the bank and further development of relationships with existing customers. 
  8. Respond to and resolve customer complaints and/or questions.
  9. Analyze potential loan markets to develop prospects for loans.
  10. Keep abreast of current and new regulations.


  1. Cross-sell other bank services.
  2. Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank’s overall operation.
  3. Maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all bank group associates.
  4. Support and uphold the Arvest Bank Group Mission.
  5. Foster and promote the proper bank image at all times. 


May directly supervise two or more lending associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates.  The incumbent has the authority and the appropriate influence to make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other associates within the guidelines of the bank’s procedures and guidelines for such change of status events.  The incumbent provides planning, assigning, and directing work assignments and schedules; addressing complaints and resolving problems; training associates. 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years previous lending related experience with emphasis in evaluation/origination of complex credits required. Three (3) years Arvest lending experience preferred.
  • Completion of CFB4 training within 6 months
  • Proven ability to build full banking relationships required.
  • Advanced knowledge of lending through commercial lending school, Omega cash flow analysis courses, etc., required.
  • Current NMLS Safe Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days required.
  • Masters degree preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and sit. The employees is occasionally required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The incumbent must be able to travel occasionally/frequently by themselves within the US, including overnight, and via automobile and air.
