Description

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the SFC (Superior Finance Company) Branch Manager the SFC Loan Collector will contact consumer loan customers regarding their delinquent accounts.  Workout arrangements to bring the account back in good standing that maintains the integrity of the bank’s interests.  Keep the collection manager aware of all problem accounts.  Make a determination as to appropriate action to be taken, such as repossession, litigation and right of offset.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1.  Contact daily loan customers that are past due by phone, mail, or other electronic communication methods.
  2. Answer incoming calls pertaining to delinquent loans.
  3. Skiptrace customers when necessary using credit bureaus, UDS, criss-cross directory, calling references, etc.
  4. Develop and send collection letters when appropriate.
  5. Work through notice of sale and repossession title work.
  6. Provide collection manager with updates on past due loans as requested
  7. Resolve delinquent status on consumer loan accounts by arranging repayment schedules.  Document all collection action taken in designated software.  Process returned mail, NSF items, and other correspondence as needed.

 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 
  • One (1) year collection experience or equivalent customer service experience is strongly preferred.
