Description

SUMMARY: Under the supervision and direction of the designated Branch Manager, the incumbent works with customers to resolve problems or address inquiries involving new and existing and accounts and loans.  Should the Branch Manager be called out of the branch, the incumbent is responsible for the more expanded management responsibility of ensuring the efficient operation and supervision of all branch associates during the supervisor's absence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Makes recommendations regarding the interpretation of policies and helps in the monitoring of policies and operating practices regarding customers, as set forth by senior management. 
  2. Supervise maintenance of building and equipment to maintain clean, neat, and orderly appearance of branch and to include maintaining proper inventory and storage of supplies.  Ensure branch is adequately supplied and equipment in good working order.
  3. Provide customer service, either in person or on the telephone, ensuring customer needs are met satisfactorily.
  4. Open new accounts in deposit services area and complete all associated paperwork necessary.
  5. Approve money orders, official checks and personal checks for other associates when Branch Manager is not available.
  6. Provide assistance to other associates, as necessary.
  7. Assist customers to reconcile accounts and resolve inquiries on all types of accounts.
  8. Provide supervision and training of other associates.
  9. In absence of manager, ensures the efficient and effective operation of the branch.
  10. Attend various weekly and monthly meetings and communicate appropriately. 

TEAM ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Cross-sell other services of the bank.
  • Support and uphold the Arvest Mission Statement.
  • Maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all associates in order to ensure accurate and efficient operations and service.
  • Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank's overall operation.
  • Foster and promote the proper bank image at all times.
  • Maintain involvement in community affairs to foster and promote the proper bank image at all times. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises two or more fulltime equivalents in the branch.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include assisting with interviews, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates.  The incumbent has the authority and the appropriate influence to make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other associates within the guidelines of the bank’s procedures and guidelines for such change of status events. The incumbent provides planning, assigning, and directing work assignments and schedules; addressing complaints and resolving problems; training associates.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 3 years banking experience required.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Associates degree preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear and sit. The associate is occasionally required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects: bend; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 52 pounds, may also include lifting overhead.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
