Shared Services HR Generalist

SUMMARY: The Shared Services HR Generalist is responsible for handling the high level administrative areas of the Human Resources functions and for working closely with the Shared Services Senior HR Generalist on associate issues, as required. Incumbent is responsible for handling highly confidential information and performing job duties  surrounding the recruiting and hiring processes in accordance with state and federal guidelines/laws, and organization policies and procedures. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Perform duties associated with recruiting and hiring processes.  Assist hiring managers with applicant pre-screening and reference checks. Participate in interviews and provide hiring recommendations as needed.
  2. Responsible for tracking information for Affirmative Action compliance, including reporting on each of the assigned division’s job applicants hires, terms, promotions, and accurate dispositions.
  3. Ensure job posting requisition and personnel files are maintained in a manner complying with EEOC/OFCCP guidelines and requirements, as well as other employment law requirements and organizational/department policies.
  4. Responsible for performing quality checks on information and associate status change documentation from managers and sourcing the correct information when necessary. Requires incumbent to have a good understanding of the information required on a status change and how it affects information, reports, notices, etc. that are generated from the HRIS systems to users.
  5. Responsible for preparing and submitting payroll data with other associate status changes to the Payroll Department.
  6. Review payroll documentation/information (Personnel Action Forms, Monetary Adjustment information, etc.) for completeness and accuracy. Adhere to required deadlines as outlined by department and Payroll Department instructions.
  7. Assist with training of departmental associates in various areas as needed. Provide support to the Sr. Generalists and Division Managers as required.

  • Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the company’s overall operation.

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • AA in Human Resources Management or other business management field or equivalent experience in Human Resources is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year previous human resources administration experience is required.
  • Minimum of intermediate level computer skills are required.
  • Some travel will be required.

  • Must be able to operate personal computer keyboard in order to create reports, schedules and other appropriate documentation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color, and the ability to adjust focus.

The incumbent must be able to travel occasionally by themselves within the US, including overnight, and via automobile and air.
