Details This position will be trained for Mortgage Lending capabilities as well as Consumer Lending.  
Preferred Qualifications Loan Documentation, Lending and Real Estate experience.  
Description

SUMMARY: The incumbent is responsible for the effective generation, evaluation, approval processing, closing, and servicing of consumer loans.  The incumbent must utilize the bank’s available assets to maximize the generation of revenue, profits, deposits, plus other cross-selling opportunities.  Detailed knowledge of the many products offered is critical to allow proper evaluation and handling of all loan prospects.  The incumbent must also protect the bank by providing continual supervision of the loans under his/her accountability.  Must be an active participant in civic and public relations activities, which provide for new business for the bank and further development of relationships with existing customers.  The incumbent will be active in marketing all bank loan programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND MINIMUM PERFORMANCE STANDARDS include the following. Other duties specific to the job position may be assigned.

I.          CUSTOMER RELATIONS:

1.      Give exceptional customer service by:

a. Acknowledging every customer promptly

b. Smiling and greeting every customer, if you now them, call them by name, if not,     introduce yourself

  1. Gather necessary information, make available all relevant information, and decide   with the customer the appropriate product or their needs:

a. Determine what the customer wants by listening and asking appropriate questions.

b. Answer questions openly and honestly, advising the customer regarding the advantages and disadvantage of the various products offered.

c. Explain what information is needed and why we need it.  This would entail, among other considerations, discussion of loan types, collateral values, repayment terms, any special conditions, etc.

  1. Determine which financial products best meet the customer’s needs and circumstances.

  2. Let the customer know when they can expect to hear from you.

  3. Genuinely thank the customer for their business.

  4. Timely follow-up.

  5. Work within underwriting authority and exercise appropriate discretion daily to analyze loan prospects.

II.         CUSTOMER SERVICE

1. Monitor the quality and performance of your loans serviced. Including:

  1. Existing portfolio
  2. Past due   
  3. Credit Exceptions
  4. Collateral Exceptions
  5. Exceptions to loan policy
  6. Charge-offs
  7. Recognition of problem loans

2. Provide the appropriate care to maintain the confidentiality of our customer’s     information.

III.        CUSTOMER DEVELOPMENT

  1. Generate new loans within general parameters of Loan Policy
  2. Cross sales and new business development
  3. Offer Credit Life and A&H coverage to all applicable loan applicants
  4. Offer auto debit option to applicable applicants.
  5. Generate other fee income.
  6. Be involved in the community.

TEAM ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Cross-Sell other bank services.
  2. Cooperate with all co-workers, supervisors, and management in order to ensure accurate and efficient operations.
  3. Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will enhance operations and profitability for the organization.
  4. Maintain involvement in the community affairs to foster and promote the proper bank image and goodwill at all times.
  5. Foster and promote the proper bank image at all times.
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or finance is desirable.
  • One (1) year lending related experience preferred with emphasis on evaluation of differing product types and credit analysis helpful.
  • Current NMLS Safe Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days required.
