Description

SUMMARY: With close supervision, incumbents analyze and project all types of credit and financial information for less complex loans.  Incumbents review all pertinent credit and financial information on a borrower and proposed borrower including reporting services, credit bureaus, other companies, financial statements, credit files, etc.  The incumbents conduct financial analysis on borrowers to assess the ability to repay loans, monitor trends and conditions, and to determine and alert senior staff and managers as to potential problem situations which surface from analytical research.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Analyze and spread financial statements and related material.
  2. Provide assistance in the preparation and presentation of loan proposal packets for the Loan Committee meetings. 
  3. Following defined parameters, determine the need for a more thorough research or additional information and work with the loan officers to obtain the needed information.
  4. Oversee and maintain an up-to-date computer system to spread, analyze, and project financial statements.
  5. Prepare reports to be used by the loan officers and loan committees.
  6. Prepare summary reports, present facts, and offer recommendations concerning credit-worthiness and the ability of the customers to repay loans.
  7. Utilize current methods and procedures to analyze credit to maintain and enhance the bank’s loan portfolio quality and minimize any potential loss.
  8. Provide feedback to others on a timely basis, without suffering quality in the credit review process.
  9. May make recommendations on improvements with bank procedures to senior management.
  10. Perform all liaison activities in a professional manner to insure maximum cooperation between and among all employees.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Completion of nine (9) hours college level accounting or equivalent required.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years banking experience or equivalent required.
  • AA/AS degree preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to arrive at work on time, work on site and have regular work attendance

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear and sit. The employee occasionally is required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects.
