Description

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the assigned manager/supervisor, the Processing Assistant will aid the Processors, Underwriters and Operations Manager to request documentation and or obtain information necessary to process a mortgage loan application. The incumbent will monitor and manage the electronic mail system and the daily standard mail (USPS).  Additionally, the incumbent will also review each receipt constantly through-out the day and disseminate the mail and attachments, if any, with the respective loan file to the appropriate areas.  The Processing Assistant may be responsible for the appraiser rotation function and the engagement and follow-up with appraisers.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  1. Receive, monitor and set up all new loan files submitted through the electronic mail system from the origination team. 
  2. Distribute all mail received through the electronic mail system and standard mail service to the designated areas as needed.
  3. Obtain appraiser assignments through the electronic appraiser rotation and submit engagement letter to the selected appraiser.  The level of appraisal report needed will be provided from the production team or the operations team.
  4. Maintain communication with appraisers to ensure timely service.
  5. Gather needed verifications including income, assets, credit updates, tax transcript, social security number verifications, flood determinations, government claims checks and/or any other documentation as directed to process a mortgage loan application.
  6. Assist the loan production associates with basic inquiries regarding their respective mortgage loan files.
  7. Update various web service systems to obtain government case number assignments, authorization numbers, registrations, etc.
  8. Update the loan operating system (E3) as needed or as directed.
  9. Provide assistance to other team members and or other areas as needed or directed.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Obtain  a working knowledge of current agencies, mortgage insurance companies and regulatory guidelines and underwriting practices training classes provided by Arvest, FNMA, FHA, VA, RD, MBA, etc., within 6 months required
  • 6 months previous loan experience preferred
