Description

SUMMARY:  This position is accountable and responsible for leadership and direction in providing quality service to the immediate community.  This includes the overall sales and services effort and the performance and growth of the branch bank.  The level is determined primarily by the overall weighted rating based on transactions, deposits and headcount. The secondary factor is the level of experience necessary to adequately grow and manage the assigned branch.

Branch Manager 2: Branch’s weighted overall rating based on transactions, deposits and number of associates is between the 40th percentile and the 80th percentile; or the organization needs a more experienced incumbent (defined in education & experience).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following functions are supervised and/or performed by the associate.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Coordination of branch team to assure top quality sales and service of current and prospective branch customers.
  2. Lead business development activities in the branch community including calls to prospective and existing customers.
  3. Maintain active involvement in the community.
  4. Oversee branch activities associated with the accurate handling of customer transactions and adherence to compliance and legal regulations, both internal and external.
  5. Assist in the selection, training and development of branch personnel and provide effective leadership.
  6. Oversee all levels of branch security in accordance with organizational policies and procedures and federal/state regulations.
  7. Interpret and monitor adherence to policies and procedures regarding customers and associates, as set forth by senior management. 
  8. May oversee other bank support functions such as teller and deposit services, electronic operations and other general operations affecting customers.
  9. May underwrite and/or process consumer loans.
  10. Work directly with customers and/or associates to handle internal and external complaints and objections.
  11. Supervise and/or perform maintenance of building and equipment to maintain clean, neat, and orderly appearance of branch and to include maintaining proper inventory and storage of supplies.
  12. Attend various weekly and monthly meetings and communicate appropriately.

TEAM ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Cross-sell other services of the bank.
  2. Support and uphold the Arvest Mission Statement.
  3. Maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all associates in order to ensure accurate and efficient operations and service.
  4. Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank's overall operation.
  5. Foster and promote the proper bank image at all times.
  6. Maintain involvement in community affairs to foster and promote the proper bank image at all times.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise multiple associates that may include Assistant Manager(s), Teller Supervisor(s), Tellers, Deposit Counselors, Loan Assistants, and Financial Services Representatives and Receptionists in the branch location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates.  The incumbent has the authority and the appropriate influence to make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other associates within the guidelines of the bank’s procedures and guidelines for such change of status events.  The incumbent provides planning, assigning, and directing work assignments and schedules; addressing complaints and resolving problems; training associates.

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Branch Manager 2:

  • AA/AS or equivalent work experience in a retail banking environment and two years experience as a manager required.
  • A working knowledge of banking regulations, economic development in the community, accounting, teller and security functions required.
  • Completion of Arvest Supervisor Training required.
  • Completion of Arvest courses in Deposit Counselor Training, Teller Training and CBS Training required.
  • Consumer Loan Training preferred
  • BS/BA preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit and to talk or hear. The associate must occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.

The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 52 pounds, may also include lifting overhead.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
