Employment Training Specialists II

SUPERVISOR: Employment Resource Center Manager

Under the direction of the Employment Resource Manager the Employment Training Specialists II (ETSII) works directly with individuals served to develop skills necessary to prepare them for future employment opportunities, and to achieve the goals established in their vocational plans (ISP/Service Plans). Provides direction and support to assigned ETS staff, and serves as the first point of contract for problem solving.  The ETSII will also assist the Career Opportunity Advocates (COA) to identify individuals’ vocational strengths and challenges.  The ETSII is an active member of the individuals’ vocational training team, and collaborates to develop the individuals’ vocational plans. Plans for and provides work related supportive services such as assistance with hygiene, meals, and transportation.

1) Act as a preceptor for new ETS I Staff during their initial orientation.
2) Participate in the development of vocational training plans for individuals served.  Ensure that these plans are implemented on a daily basis.
3) Recognize, identify and address individuals’ productivity challenges and barriers to successful achievements of service plans. Monitor productivity of individuals within assigned area and assist staff in the development of improvement initiatives (i.e. development of adaptive equipment, suggesting modifications to work station design and workflow improvements).
4) Monitor individuals and address challenges that present barriers to achievement of services plans.  Assist and coach staff in dealing with behavioral issues.
5) Complete all required paperwork (i.e. attendance sheets, ID notes, monthly reports, incident reports, Denial of Rights, etc.).  Monitor required paperwork in assigned area to ensure accuracy, timelines and compliance.
6) Communicate contract requirements to individuals served and monitor contracts for quality, accuracy, quantity and timeliness and maintain control of inventory.
7) Monitor and review Time Logger Program entries in area for accuracy and timeliness.
8) Assist ERC Manager/Supervisor to complete and administer annual reviews, disciplinary actions and improvement plans.
9) Monitor contract work and ensure that it is completed correctly and on time:
• Maintain control of inventory
• Set up equipment necessary for completion of job
• Help adapt or develop the necessary tools or equipment for completing the job
• Work along side Associates to model appropriate behavior and to ensure timely completion of job
• Track completed work by Associates
• Maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest quality standards
10)   Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
•  Ability to care, respond and work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Must encompass professional demeanor.
• Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret instructions; gain knowledge and posses the capability to multi-task.
• Ability to evaluate emergency situations and prioritize work load in order to meet deadlines.

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years experience working with population served in a similar capacity.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certification is required or the ability to supply certification within 90 days of hire.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, sitting, standing, lifting and walking.
