Description

This position is accountable for guiding and leading project teams in
effectively utilizing the tools of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing to
complete projects that will eliminate waste and non-value added activities
and improve performance in the five focus areas of Operational Excellence
across all sites within the East Region.

Additionally, this position is responsible for the following:

-Develop and implement measurement systems to accurately quantify
improvement activities and performance.
-Review and validate project results achievement of East Region CI projects.
-Develop and implement post-project audit activities designed to monitor
sustainability of performance improvement results over time.
-Provide input for long-range capital needs resulting from project
implementation.
- Drive OEE and belt utilization.
-Implement site level training programs in the CI tools of Six Sigma and
Lean Manufacturing concepts and ensure CI tools, best practices and
resources are available to employees at all levels and are being properly
utilized.
-Guide and direct Region Black Belts, Green Belts and Champions in
effective team leadership.
-Personally complete two to four (2 - 4) projects annually that contribute
to the enhanced performance of the East Region and Global Supply Chain,
including Black Belt level Six Sigma projects and Lean projects.
-Work closely with Division Engineering to develop priorities, improve
systems and processes and ensure focused and successful improvement efforts
that positively impact site Safety, Quality, People and Service in a
productive and cost effective manner.

 
Position Requirements Green Belt Six Sigma Certification or equivalent is required, with desire
and ability to advance to Black Belt Six Sigma Certification level.

Minimum two years of proven success in timely Six Sigma project management
and completion.

Demonstrated ability to identify issues, problems and opportunities and
determine whether action is needed.
Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships to facilitate
the accomplishment of business goals.
Demonstrated ability to properly plan and organize work and leverage
resources to complete work efficiently.
Demonstrated ability to use time effectively and prevent irrelevant issues
or distractions from interfering with work completion.
Demonstrated ability to provide feedback, instruction and development
guidance to help others excel in their current responsibilities.

Preferred qualifications include Six Sigma Black Belt Certification,
experience in Lean Manufacturing training and experience in a manufacturing
and/or distribution environment.

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Operations Management, Chemical
Engineering or related field.
