Working with Spiral Communications Contract Support Services and Internet Service Provider Division to provide technical support, assistance, and maintain hardware/software/system configuration for contract customers as well as Spiral Communications backend systems. This will include Windows as well as Linux systems.

Skill Sets:

Strong skills with Windows Server 2003/2008

Intermediate Linux Administration Skills

Strong skills with Active Directory

Proven ability to quickly switch tasks and work in multiple computing environments

Proven experience with application management

Proven ability to work well in a team environment


Duties of the engineer include but are not limited to:

Maintain and administer computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.

Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.

Troubleshoot and implement Windows Active Directory Environments

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.

Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software

Assess, recommend and implement network & host security products

Administer Microsoft Windows servers & workstations via Active Directory

Administer Linux (Ubuntu)

Manage, backup, restore and maintain Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 & MySQL databases

Position Requirements


BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field preferred

Other Essential Requirements

Must be able to read and write effectively in English.

With the exception of approved leave, attendance is considered essential.

Must be able to work within the shift hours of 0600 and 1800. May be required to work outside of standard operating hours to complete training projects and support customer requirements.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit and stand for long periods. Will be exposed to computers and computer monitors.
