What We Are Looking For:

NCU is currently seeking a dynamic individual to become part of our team as Director of Clinical Training for the School of Marriage & Family Therapy.

This position is focused primarily on administrative responsibilities within the online MFT Master’s and Doctoral programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Administration

  • Assists the MFT Program Director in administration of MFT training programs at NCU.
  • Maintains professional involvement through state, regional, and national associations.
  • Conduct applicant interviews and initial reviews.


Clinical Training and Oversight

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for all levels of clinical work.
  • Responds to student questions and concerns about clinical work requirements.
  • Completes Clinical Readiness Evaluations.
  • Helps students establish placements with local clinical sites and supervisors.
  • Completes pre-practicum documentation review and approval.
  • Reviews state licensure requirements and ensures student compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Serve as a director and resource for faculty who provide individual and group supervision.
  • Provide individual and group supervision as needed.
  • Reviews students’ clinical coursework/documentation.
  • Participates in evaluations of student final clinical presentations.
  • Maintains records of client contact and supervision completed by students.
  • Works with doctoral students to complete the pre-internship process and internship plans.
  • Reviews syllabi for all clinical experience requirement courses and ensures compliance with AAMFT standards for clinical experience, supervision, etc.
  • Recruits new faculty members to serve as practicum/internship supervisors as needed per program growth.
  • Serves as a resource and coordinates the work for all faculty that teach clinical practicum, internship, and supervision courses. 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of marriage and family therapy content, clinical practice, and training methods.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in operating equipment, such as personal computer, fax, copier, phone system.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to think critically and respond to Learners and other pertinent constituencies.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.


Education and Experience:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in marriage and family therapy from a regionally accredited and COAMFTE accredited institution required.
  • Must be credentialed as an AAMFT Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor.
  • Experience in graduate level coursework and clinical training and administration preferred.
  • Experience with online education preferred.
