About Divvy:

Divvy is Chicago’s new bike share system launching in Summer 2013. Under contract with the City of Chicago DOT, Divvy is excited to announce the beginning of its operations and seeks talented individuals to assist the marketing team leading up to system launch of 300 stations and 3000 bikes. Overview of Position: Divvy is seeking an entrepreneurial Marketing Intern who wants to experience what it’s like to launch a new brand. The Marketing Intern will assist in a wide range of activities, including but not limited to campus partnerships, event planning, social media engagement, and website management. He/she must be able to work from our Chicago office at least 3 days a week, and may occasionally be asked to participate in weekend events along with Divvy staff.


Key Aspects of Position:

·       Manage elements of Divvy website, social media, and online ads

·       Help design strategy for college campus partnerships and outreach

·       Coordinate logistics around Divvy’s “Founding Members” campaign

·       Organize summer event logistics and materials (i.e. farmers markets, festivals)

·       Research and communicate with potential corporate and nonprofit partners 

·       Part-Time (approximately 24-32 hours per week)






Position Requirements


Required Skills and Experience:

·       Previous marketing and social media project experience (school, class, internships, etc.)

·       Advanced writing skills -- ability to communicate with a variety of audiences

·       Professional demeanor -- ability to work directly with managers and vendors

·       Flexibility -- ability to handle ambiguity, change, and multiple deadlines

·       Likes to be challenged, work hard, and have fun

·       Interest in start-ups, branding, or urban transit


Preferred Skills and Experience:

·       Design skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) not necessary, but a plus
