New York City Bike Share - Crane Operator 



Bicycle sharing is a sustainable, healthy, and community-based transport option that enhances urban livability and mobility. New York City Bike Share is excited to announce the beginning of its operations in New York City with up to 10,000 bikes and 600 stations in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

New York City Bike Share is seeking bike enthusiasts to fill multiple positions to assist with bike station assembly, deployment and troubleshooting for the launch this summer. Training will be provided to energetic candidates that possess a friendly team-player spirit with the ability to work irregular hours in a fast-paced environment.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating a stationary crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads under general supervision.
  • Responsible for crane maintenance in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Responsible for ensuring crane is operated within OSHA regulations.
  • Manipulate or depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to  written, verbal, or signal instructions.
  • Inspect crane for safety issues on a daily basis and determine if any parts are malfunctioning.
  • Drive trucks to worksites and unload trucks.  
  • Work with in precise limits and standards of accuracy.


Position Requirements



  •  Available to start in ASAP.
  •  Flexible schedule must be able to work nights and weekends.
  •  Position is Temporary-Full time .     


Education/Skills Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • At least 1 year of operating a knuckleboom crane.
  • MUST have a clean and valid driver’s license.
  • OSHA Certificate a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude.  
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Team Player.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, warehouse/shop environment.
