Senior Marketing Communications Specialist

Reporting to the Marketing Communications Manager, explore this exciting opportunity at Aclara where the successful candidate will work closely with Aclara employees and Aclara customers to produce high-quality marketing materials  and will be responsible for various communications projects including researching, writing, and producing content that supports sales growth as well as the expansion of Aclara’s product and solution offerings. Projects include those that support business-development efforts including the development of white papers, case studies, application notes, sales presentations, website maintenance, social-network marketing, collateral development, advertisement placement and insertion management, and research on trends, new services, and markets.

 

Essential functions & responsibilities of the Senior Marketing Communications Specialist include:

  • Work closely with Product Marketing, Marketing Communications, Sales, and Account Management as necessary to support the development of effective marketing communications collateral and documentation.
  • Support and assist the Marketing Communications Managers in researching and writing press releases, articles, brochures, product sheets and other marketing collateral and additional projects including product launches and sales efforts.
  • Maintain editorial calendars, media kits, and advertising plans and schedules; ensure publications and websites receive proper materials on schedule.
  • Support internal and external communications efforts via electronic communications including maintaining and updating social media and the Aclara website.
  • Perform copyediting and proof-reading.
  • Handle administrative duties associated with advertising program and managing collateral and image libraries
 

Position Requirements

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business related field of study is required.  A minimum of five (5) years of experience facilitating marketing and/or communications projects, working with stakeholders, and producing project plans, as well as at least five (5) years working in the capacity of a writer for publications or an agency is required.  Candidates must the ability to work with a wide range of personalities at all levels of the organization, advanced experience in grammar and copyediting/proofreading, oral and written communication skills, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.  Also, the ideal candidate will have the ability to work with highly technical material related to utilities, networking, and communications, the ability to work well under deadlines and handle multiple, competing tasks and priorities, and have self-motivation, a proactive attitude, and strong organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
