  • Candidate will join the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Program, under the Mission Assurance Division, whose customers are primarily Department of Defense and Intelligence Community (IC) members. Candidate will be part of a  technical team that currently develop the Strategic Mission Assurance Data System (SMADS).  SMADS is designed to provide a capability to link the status of critical infrastructure/assets to systems and their functions, assigned USSTRATCOM missions, and operational capability.  Currently providing Initial Operational Capability (IOC) to the Global Operations Center (GOC) Battle Watch Commander and Mission Area Experts/Subject Matter Experts.
  • Candidate will work very closely with the Customer, the end user community, Government IT staff and other engineering/technical staff and become an integrated part of the customer team. Candidate will be co-located with the customer. Responsibilities will include: performing operations and maintenance for existing Web Services, developing future Web Services, understanding customer needs and requirements, creating designs, developing creative ways to improve customer communication capabilities, understanding various IT initiatives currently underway and providing alternative solutions if necessary, looking for ways to improve business efficiencies, working to ensure current systems security requirements are maintained.


Position Requirements

Required Skills: Candidate must be able to show Mid to Expert Level .net, XML or java web service development. Candidate must have the ability to create a Web service endpoint. Skills required include;
a. Determine the type of WSDL to use.
b. Model a database to store the data.
c. Generate the Web service endpoint based on the WSDL.
d. Create the business logic layer and data access layer to serve the
data through the endpoint.
e. Implement authentication and authorization policies.

Candidate must have the ability to create a Web service consumer. Skills required include;
a. Generate the service consumer code based on the WSDL used by the
b. Ensure that the current database can store the data being consumed.
If it cannot, then modify the database so it will support the data.
c. Write the business logic layer and data access layer.

Candidate must have the ability to gather and prioritize hardware and software requirements to design and implement intra- and extranet Web services for the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Program and the Mission Assurance Division.
