Job Description:

Systems Engineer

Responsibilities Include:

  • Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities concerned with system and event design, integration, and implementation. Acts as a project lead, trainer and mentor for events within OSC . Capable of setting up, installing, loading, configuring, integrating and troubleshooting multiple systems and network components. Responsible for managing others to achieve desired results in complex systems implementations and events. Capable of leading requirements, design, and implementation efforts including leading teams of technical and subject matter experts. Produces systems engineering documentation such as design documents or engineering plans and other deliverables.
  • Acts as the lead system engineer to establish OSC and AOC backup requirements. Lead's the discussion of activities and technology and makes recommendations for advanced technology and provides the operational way ahead to define future requirements for the OSC. Works closely with HQ ACC to assist in the continued modernization of the OSC and AOC weapon system.

Position Requirements

Specific Skills:

  • Experience with airborne networking components and computer network defense is highly desired
  • Familiarity with OSC specific requirements in regards to increased storage and replication. Understanding of DoD system certification and accreditation and PKI is required
  • Technical and operational knowledge and expertise to competently execute the tasks/subtasks in this task order is required

Experience Requirements:

  • Five (5) years of intensive and progressive experience in systems engineering and implementation / integration of complex systems or seven (7) years without a degree
  • Three (3) years of AOC operational and technical experience (acquired in AOC operations, tests or experiments) within the last five (5) years with an understanding of AOC operations and processes and a significant understanding of AOC systems

Skills/Personal Qualities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management
  • Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team setting

Clearance: Top Secret security clearance with Special Compartmentalize Information (SCI) Special Access Programs/Special Access Requirements (SAP/SAR)

Education, Degrees, Certifications (only if required):

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in systems engineering, engineering or a mathematics-intensive discipline
  • DoD Manual 8570.01-M IAT LVL II certification is required
  • Must attain Cloud+ certification within 6 months of estimated FY14 certification establishment
