Human Resources Administrator 

Description

The Human Resources Administrator plays an instrumental part in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures. The incumbent is committed to the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the hospice concept.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Greets guests and provides information as needed to internal and external customers when inquiries are made regarding Hospice of Dayton, policies, procedures, benefits, etc, using superior customer service practices.
  • Maintains and ensures the order of personnel files, including I-9 files. Responsible for maintaining Onbase e-file system and ensures all personnel files are up to State, Federal and Joint Commission standards.
  • Enters new hire information accurately and timey into HRIS (Kronos) and Allscripts.  Reports new hire information to the state in less than 20 days from hire.
  • Assists in maintaining HRIS records and preparation of monthly HR reports for Hospice of Dayton managers and staff, including licensure renewals, annual driver’s license verifications, name and address changes.
  • Maintains Professional licensure information after hire.  Runs monthly reports from Kronos data to ensure staff is currently licensed and notifying managers if there is a lapse in licensure.
  • Assists Chief HR and Compliance Officer with various administrative functions including but not limited to, monthly credit card approvals, coordinating meeting logistics, and other projects as needed.
  • Responsible for annual driver’s license/insurance verification and verifies a safe driving record for each applicable staff member.
  • Collaborates with the Education and Training Department on scheduling and preparing for New Hire Orientation.  Ensures all pertinent Human Resource information is communicated to and collected from new employees during new employee orientation sessions.
  • Supports team members to ensure achievement of organizational and department goals, such as, administering background checks, exit interviews, employee ID badges and ensuring backup in his/her absence.
  • Organizes special employer sponsored activities and programs such as the Annual Employee Recognition Luncheon, Employee Assistance Program seminars, AAA memberships, Birthday Luncheons, Holiday events, etc.
  • Participates in HR initiatives to gather information needed from all staff; i.e. personnel information update, mass communication initiatives, etc.
  • Cross-trains with Hospitality Steward and fills in when needed so that visitors and guests are accommodated.
  • Performs work for special projects as requested.
  • Identifies own educational needs to keep current and upgrade knowledge and skills via workshops, seminars, and self-study.
 
Position Requirements
  1. 3-5 years Human Resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Strong Computer Skills including MSOffice environment and data entry. Preferred experience with Kronos, OnBase, Halogen, MyStaffingPro
  3. Filing and Retrieval Skills. High level organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Commitment to confidentiality.
  5. Customer Service skills
  6. HRIS System skills (Kronos preferred)
  7. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  8. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively with employees or volunteers of the organization and with members of the community at large.
  10. Ability  to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  11. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at hand
  12. Valid Driver’s License (Safe Driving Record)
