Description
  • Serves as a business consultant for project reviews, revisions, changes, enhancements, and usability testing of rating.
  • Works closely with Business Partners to ensure requirements for projects are clear, measurable, & testable while attempting to develop/maintain common processes at an Enterprise level wherever possible. 
  • Acts as liaison between Marketing, Pricing, and third party Vendors (e.g. Comp Raters, Agency Management Systems, etc.) to ensure flawless implementation of revisions, changes and enhancements. 
  • Provides expert business knowledge and technical support for maintaining and enhancing comparative rating software. 
  • Performs competitor benchmarking and usability reviews to prepare and coordinate business requirements & specifications, then submit the request(s) for programming changes. 
  • Develops test strategy, test plans, and test cases for simultaneous, and potentially complex, projects. 
  • Responsible for verifying accuracy of new states, projects, updates, rate revisions, logic modifications.  Includes identifying and tracking errors and inconsistencies in the functionality.
  • Develops ongoing relationships with third party Vendors & regular users of third party Vendor software to help better our position in the marketplace as well as to get ahead of competitor changes.
  •  Keeps Business Partners abreast of new offerings, changes, and opportunities afforded by vendors & competitors within the vendor software.
 
Position Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in software testing required, preferably specific to agency management systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of the various rating platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and apply business spec plans in the testing of rating software. 
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of numerous states and various product lines, including workflow, work processes, procedures and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the policy processing systems.
  • Demonstrates ability to conduct investigation and research into software errors and discrepancies. 
  • Good understanding of the software development process.  
  • Ability to analyze problems, make recommendations, work with vendors to produce quality rating products.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • Good communication and consultancy skills.  Tactful, diplomatic demeanor necessary to maintain good working relationships with vendors, Business Partners, and developers. 
  • Natural curiosity. 
  • Good judgment skills.
  • Good writing skills. 
  • Ability to work well in a team and as an individual.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project.  Knowledge of Caliper and Clarity a plus.
