In accordance with Federal, State, and the Public Health Foundation Enterprises policies and procedures, assists in WIC center operations such as performing food instrument printing, exit and front desk tasks as outlined in PHFE WIC Integrated Statewide Information System (ISIS), providing orientation to WIC eligible participants, performing office duties, performing outreach activities, and performing and/or assisting in secondary duties as trained.


This is an Hourly as Needed Bilingual English and Spanish Floating Position in the WIC Orange County (Santa Ana Area and North of Santa Ana)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

70%    Performs food instrument printing; and exit and front desk tasks as outlined in PHFE WIC policies and Integrated Statewide Information System (ISIS).

10%    Provides WIC orientation to new participants.

2%      Assists in upkeep of WIC facilities.

6%      Performs office and WIC center activities necessary to facilitate the smooth running of the WIC Center.

1%      Works in other WIC centers, as needed.

2%      Attends all required WIC sponsored training modules, meetings and seminars.

1%      Participates in special projects and WIC outreach activities.

1%      Transports supplies and staff, as needed.

2%      Contacts WIC participants using the Call Tracking System (CaTS).


5%   Additional duties may be added with more training such as:

  • Present appropriate nutrition education for individuals and groups.
  • Screen all participants for counseling, certify low risk WIC participants, and determine the appropriate WIC food instruments to be provided using ISIS.
  • Provide breastfeeding support to all WIC pregnant women as needed.
  • May be required to assume responsibility for clinic function in the absence of the supervising nutritionist.

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • One year continuous experience in a customer service field.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States. 
  • Must be able to secure timely transportation to fulfill the requirements of the essential job duties for this position (e.g. floating to other WIC Centers, training modules, seminars, meetings, outreach, main office, and transporting supplies). 
  • Must have home telephone, message phone, or pager. All numbers must be current.
