Assists clients with personal care, activities of daily living, and performs household duties as needed under the supervision of a registered nurse. Adheres to the client’s individual plan of care which can include: bathing, toileting, meal preparation, light house keeping, errands, ambulating and range of motion activities, etc. Must adhere to Universal Standards, demonstrate good infection control practices, and complete mandated in service training per agency policy. Must submit weekly activity and time sheets and keep in regular communication with Supervisor and related agency staff including notification of any changes in scheduling or availability.
Good communication skills are needed with a maturity level to cope with other's lifestyles and needs. Must have empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and the impaired. Must demonstrate tact, patience and good personal hygiene. Car and Connecticut driver's license REQUIRED; weekly, weekend, or full time Live In availability required. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, be alert and self-motivated. Must be able to effectively manage difficult situations and clients.
