Koniag Technology Solutions (KTS) is hiring a full time Project Manager to work at our client site in Arlington, VA. The successful candidate will assist federal employee project managers in supporting software development activities in addition project management as well as business analysis, particularly in preparing and presenting technical, managment, and operational briefings and reports, and identifying leads from many preexisting contacts across DEA, both from previous work and in the undertaking of new duties. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification  or equivalent is required. 

This is a direct, full time position with our company, working onsite with our Federal client as part of the KTS team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working with government project managers, act as "arms and legs" for client PMs
  • Assist in initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing assigned projects and tasks
  • Monitor progress by others participating on the project
  • Provide analytical, planning, and implementation support services for performance measurement, metric analysis, and process improvement of SIS Project and Programs
  • Create, maintain, update, track, and close out executive action items
  • Identifying and helping move forward leads for business opportunities at DEA
Position Requirements

The successful candidate must have these qualifications:

  • A Bachelor Degree in a technical field
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent in credentials or experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of project management experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of total experience
  • Ability to manage projects as defined by the PMI for software development projects, including developing project requirements and schedules, managing risks, and tracking action items
  • Demonstrated ability to develop functional design process maps, transforming the "what to do" of the SRS (Systems Requirement Specifications) into the "how to do" of the design specifications, thus defining the overal structure of the product functionally
  • Knowledge of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Familiarity with web development, the Agile methodology, and Configuration Management within Agile
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • In depth experience with MS Project and Office
  • Preferred: familiarity with web development, configuration management in Agile methodology, and DEA experience
  • Experience at a "Big 5" consulting firm
  • Project management knowledge area keywords: intitiating, planning, tracking, closing, schedule, risk management, gantt, action items, pmp, pmi, sprint, agile, scrum
