Commercial Package Insurance Policy Technician

Position CPP Processing Technician  
Location OH, Cleveland  

The commercial package policy processing technician handles all aspects of processing and issuance of policy change requests in accordance with a letter of authority and company guidelines.  The technician may also provide underwriting support in areas of processing endorsement quotes as needed.  The technician may have frequent contact with field office staff and agents to compile information and communicate the status of various accounts. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Processes and prepares endorsements, non renewals, cancellations and reinstatements to enforce policies
  • May support underwriting in the entry and processing of quotes for endorsement transactions
  • May present information and training to other employees by telephone or in person relating to company products and system usage
  • Communicate in writing and by telephone with agents and field office staff to gather information for risk development and assessment
  • Follow up to confirm all activity is complete and endorsements are issued in accordance with company guidelines and by requested dates
  • Manually rates endorsements that are not fully automated
  • Order reports as required by underwriting procedures or specific underwriter direction as needed by endorsement request
  • Review motor vehicle records for violations and refer those to the underwriter for consideration
  • Order specific rates from International Organization for Standardization (ISO)  when a tentative rate is used for the determination of premium
  • Handle endorsement decisions within letter of authority
  • Meet or exceed individual standards for productivity and quality
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Respond to agent and field office inquiries on the status of endorsements
  • Meet or exceed established service center standards
  • Promote a team atmosphere in the unit and the company
  • Support company guidelines by demonstrating a professional businesslike demeanor while adhering to company guidelines relating to attendance and attire
