EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER POSITION DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time Embedded Software Engineer position located at our Auburn Hills, MI office.

The Engineering & Information Solutions (EIS) Division of MTS builds Automotive dataloggers to collect diagnostic data from development vehicles and maintains a website where  the data is wirelessly uploaded and managed for the car OEM. MTS is looking to expand its scope and value-added services offering, hence presenting an exciting opportunity to learn and grow new skill sets.

Position Description:

The Embedded Software Engineer will work on design and development of new functionality plus optimization of existing functionality on the existing data loggers. 

The Embedded Software Engineer specific tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Understanding existing hardware architecture and software architecture

• Interpret new functional requirements from customer and refine the requirements for implementation

• Work with embedded team to implement and test new requirements

• Evaluate existing implementation and work on optimization

• Test and validation of the data logger functions on vehicles

 
Position Requirements

EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Required Education & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSEE, BSME, BSCE ) from an accredited college or university
  • 5-10  years of automotive experience
  • Good understanding of  Vehicle networks - CAN protocols, Diagnostic protocols, Real Time Operating Systems experience
  • Expertise in C/C++ programming
