POSITION SUMMARY    

The Creative Director will be responsible for managing creative projects in the marketing department by providing creative direction to staff and ensuring projects are completed on time within budget. The creative director is charged with determining the best ways to visually represent Monster’s identity in print, video and online. It is a highly creative role, involving development of high-level concepts for design projects. It also involves working with internal and external clients, pitching designs, and articulating Monster’s needs to parties internally and 3rd party design firms.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES      

The Creative Director will:

  • Develop creative programs and design concepts that meet Monster’s business objectives and that advance our brand strategy
  • Develop a calendar which ensures that projects are completed by the final delivery date, work is delegated to appropriate parties, following up to ensure creative work is accurate, on-time, and within budget
  • Create strong relationships with strategy in terms of brand idea building and client management to develop a world class product
  • Coordinate printing of creative work by requesting print bids and determining the best and most cost-effective vendor
  • Preserve creative documents by developing means for archiving design work, developing a library of copy that can be used for catalogs
  •  Act as back-up graphic designer by completing artwork requests, making minor revisions to projects already designed or other short-term projects

The incumbent’s performance will be assessed on:

  • On-time project completion
  • Increased structure within the creative department
  • Adherence to department processes
  • Increased retention of key creative employees

KEY RELATIONSHIPS                                   

The incumbent will form key relationships with:

  • Director of Marketing
  • Project Manager
  • Art Director

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have the following experience or knowledge in the following areas:

  • BA/BS degree in Graphic Design or Communications
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Creative Director within the Consumer Electronics or CPG verticals
  • At least 2 years experience managing a creative staff
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and achieve deadlines
  • Manage outside vendors/resources
  • Find creative solutions to problems
  • Significant experience in meeting planning
  • Experience in analyzing events ROI
  • Project management
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Negotiating skills
  • Able to work well with and motivate others

EDUCATION                                                 

Bachelors degree required and/or equivalent work experience
