Chemical Operator

  • Operates processing equipment necessary to treat waste and perform routine maintenance and housekeeping functions on plant equipment and structures.
  • Comply with all EQ Management System policies and procedures.
  • Handle inbound waste shipments and process chemicals subject to written supervisory authorization.
  • Operates filtration systems
  • Performs general housekeeping duties
  • Inspects and records the condition of equipment used in routine  and emergency  plant Operations.  Performs light maintenance as required
  • Reports any actual or perceived unsafe condition of equipment or people's actions to the supervisor or other manager.
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures and operates equipment only when the equipment is fit for its intended use.
  • Unloads, stores and dispenses process chemicals and other supplies, parts and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Prepares or moves trailers under equipment
  • Participates directly in emergency response operations, relating to activities conducted at the facility's site and transportation activities, both on and off-site, which involve the facility's equipment and/or people.
  • Completes all other assignments made by management
Position Requirements
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to read and write English and work with basic mathematics. 
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent is considered necessary. 
  • Some knowledge of chemistry is preferred.
  • One year's experience in a process industry is preferred.
