Our Team: Under the supervision of the Director, Research & Development, the Research Scientist conducts comprehensive literature research on dietary supplement ingredients for a broad range of new and existing products. The Research Scientist uses their comprehensive knowledge of biochemistry, human physiology, biological assays and clinical trials to critically evaluate published research, summarize conclusions, and communicate recommendations to colleagues in Research & Development (R&D) and other Departments. This position also provides research support for other R&D activities requiring a sound understanding of human nutrition, product formulations and production processes. What you will be doing: -
Provide research support for R&D and other Company departments to support new and existing products. -
Conduct online research of the scientific literature. -
Provide clear and concise written (MS Word) and presentation (MS PowerPoint) summaries. -
Create and maintain spreadsheets (MS Excel). -
Contribute well written documentation including product substantiations and summaries of research on natural products, nutrients, and botanicals. -
Collaborate with internal and external resources to create unique new dietary supplement products for the Company. -
Design and implement research studies, interpret data, understand application of statistics. -
Keep abreast of scientific and technical developments in areas of interest to the company and communicate to team. -
Perform all other tasks and contribute to various on-going projects as assigned. |
What you bring to the team: -
MS in biochemistry, nutrition, food science, natural products, biological sciences or related field; PhD preferred. -
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in biochemistry, nutrition, food science, natural products, or biological sciences. -
Experience analyzing, interpreting and summarizing research publications in the biological or chemical sciences. -
Interest and experience in nutrition, natural products, dietary supplements, and/or herbal medicine. -
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite. -
Work experience or research experience related to the dietary supplement industry preferred.
