POSITION PURPOSE

The Accounting Specialist position will oversee 5-6 payroll clerks and is responsible for a broad range of bookkeeping and accounting functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Expertise in payroll, payroll taxes (everything related to submission and filing of multi- state and federal government filings)
  • Compiles and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • General ledger maintenance; review of general ledger for accuracy monthly, quarterly and annually
  • Reconciles and balance accounts
  • Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
  • Oversees tax filings
  • Prepares routine financial statements and related reports
  • Posts accounting data to ledgers and journals
  • Produces and distributes monthly budget statements
