 Job Overview:

The Direct Mail Marketing Manager’s responsibilities are to assist in the development of targeted database marketing programs by analyzing client information and assisting in the design strategies and tactics to optimize results.  To accomplish this, the program manager will utilize our client’s resources such as list processing, database development, and analytical reporting to measure and monitor program performance.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Required to have hands on experience with all facets of the mail process. Mail process, multi-variant mail campaigns and testing, knowledge of printing process, vendor management and negotiation.

  • Design and implement complex, multi-wave, multi-channel, triggered communications using proprietary segmentation techniques, modeling and scoring.

  • Develop and execute multi-channel contact strategies across customer segments touch point channels, with the goal of increasing rebuy rates and driving revenue from a robust customer file. 

  • Provide and be knowledgeable in "best practices" in campaign development to optimize efficiency and quality of deliverables.

  • From data analyses, develop, test and measure campaign strategies that will drive desired customer behavior and results.
  • Deep understanding of list, offer, creative package responsiveness, content relevancy and communications channel engagement (DM, EM, Phone, Web and Social).
  • Actively participates in execution of predetermined marketing plans.  Work with internal resources to ensure that projects are being implemented on time and to the customer’s satisfaction.

  • Recommend/strategies with clients for continued program improvement throughout the customer relationship

  • Facilitate campaign financial analysis for assigned direct mail projects such as cost to communicate and campaign ROI, program forecasting, measurement and assessment.
  • Oversee the campaign creation, production, and distribution of all print, electronic and internet communications related to Direct Mail products and services

  • Continuous communication with CMO, Strategic Consulting on project status and client issues and concerns.



Position Requirements


BA/BS with significant coursework in marketing, mathematics or economics, MBA or equivalent preferred.

7+ direct marketing experience with focus on lists, data, processing, & analysis Proven communication, organizational and time management skills.

3+ years’ experience with database querying tools, languages and analytical platforms supporting database marketing.

Must be able to effectively communicate logical ideas and conclusions in one-to-one and large group situations.

Knowledge of database marketing initiatives and practices

Participant in team environment.

Ability to welcome change and easily adapt. Ability to function well in a fast paced ambiguous environment

Strategic and collaborative thinker. An innovative, positive, and self-directed attitude – interested in “figuring out” solutions.

Statistical background a plus.

Strong financial and business acumen

Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills
