Description

Summary:

Responsible for timely pick-up and delivery of clinic wide supplies and mail bag to central location. Performs routine and scheduled maintenance for the up keep of the building.  This position reports to SLD/Department Manager but may take direction from building supervisor/manager as appropriate.  The hours of the position are from 10:30 am - 7:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

Essential Functions (greater than or equal to 10% of time): 

60% - Completes timely pick-up and delivery at various locations within BMC

  • Pick- up and delivery of mail and supplies from all satellites and main clinic
  • Travel to other business to pick up inter-office mail, patients slides, parts and materials, with-in scheduled time frames and routes
  • While driving Clinic vehicles, must follow all rules of the road and demonstrate good driving etiquette

35% - Assist others with various functions in the Facilities department

  • Work orders, daily cleaning, organization of lobby furniture including magazines and other materials, waters and maintains indoor plants.
  • Grounds maintenance, policing of trash and debris throughout the parking lot and planters
  • Pick-up and transport of medical bio waste to main clinic for disposal


Secondary Functions (less than 10% of time):

5% - Assist with snow removal as needed, waters and maintains indoor plants

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 
Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.  Minimum of three years of building maintenance experience.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of general commercial building maintenance and cleaning. Problem solving skills.  Excellent customer service and the ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Required a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk up and down stairs and climb ladders.  The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

Work Environment:

General office environment in a clinical setting.  Exposure to moderate levels of noise in a moderately paced environment.  Minimal patient or client contact.  Works with other Bend Memorial Clinic departments to deliver optimal service and meet clinic goals.
